I have taught over 100 students HTML and website design and have always recommended NVu and the Kompozer. Kompozer is the free HTML editor that is supported now. (Just do a Google search and you'll easily find the download page.) Linda PS Later you may find that Dreamweaver or FrontPage will better suit your needs.
