  • GMail Makes it Easier for You to Switch

gmail logo GMail Makes it Easier for You to SwitchIt can be a huge pain to change your cell phone number. These days, it’s just as complicated as changing email addresses. Gmail is making it easier for us all. Google announced yesterday that Gmail now migrates email and contacts from other email providers, including Yahoo!, Hotmail, AOL, and many more. Taking it one step further, Gmail also gives you the option to forward your email messages for up to 30 days while you test it out.

To set this up, just head over to your Gmail settings, and you’ll see a new tab labeled “Accounts and Import.” While this feature is available for all new Gmail accounts, it is still being rolled out on existing accounts so be patient if you don’t see these options just yet. Businesses and schools using Google Apps won’t see these new migration options.

Will you be making the switch?

  • Free Productivity Tools – Track time, Make Invoices

    Free Productivity Tool – Paymo

For those of you who work from home, and need a easy to use, and intuitive program to track your time, paymo may be the solution you’re looking for.

    http://www.paymo.biz

    free time tracking timesheets

With the new Invoicing feature, easy to use Reports, which show you your time entries in a variety of ways decided by filters you choose, and time tracking by project and task, this is a very cool tool.

You can set up multiple clients, and assign projects and tasks to each of those clients for the work you do for them. Then, just open up the time tracking window, choose your project and task that you want to work on, and start the timer. When you’re done, stop the timer, and your time entry will automatically be recorded for that client, under that project and task.

Switching tasks, projects and even clients is done fast and easily through a drop down menu on the time tracking window. You can even add a new task right from the time tracking window.

When you’re done for the day, you can go back to the main webpage, and you’ll get a breakdown of your time by week, month, overall time, and more.

You can create custom reports to show you exactly how much time you’ve been spending for a specific client in the Reports section, and when it’s time to send in your invoice, the new Invoice section will make it quick and easy by allowing you to pull in your time right from your time sheet. Then you can print it out, or download it in a pdf format to attach to an email, and you’re done! It couldn’t be easier.

If you upload your own company logo, your invoice will automatically be customized to include it, giving you a professional looking invoice without any extra effort on your part.

Paymo even has a desktop application, for those of you who prefer that over a web application

The one negative thing I’ve seen with this program, is that the projects for all clients are grouped together in the project drop down on the time tracking window, not sorted by client, so you’ll have to know what project is for which client. Or you could name your projects in such a way so as to tell you which client it’s for. This doesn’t seem to be too much of a problem though, falling more under the “would be nice” category than the “must have” category. And when you consider all the other great features paymo has to offer, you’ll be wishing you’d found this sooner.

  • Free Tool – Time Mangement

Free Tool Improves Your Time Management

Voo2do is a cool tool.  Here is their tagline (cute):

there’s too much worth doing—choose wisely.

advanced task and priority management for busy, ambitious individuals
voo2do 350px Free Tool Time Mangement

    What makes voo2do different?
Unlike most online to-do lists, voo2do tracks priority, due date, and time estimates for each task. There is no notion of “lists” in voo2do— tasks can be grouped by project, but you can view and edit a bunch of projects together. Voo2do supports some basic sharing of tasks. learn more »

    Why is this free?
Because I made it for myself, and it wasn’t that much extra work to just let anyone use it. Or at least, it didn’t seem like that much extra work at the time.
